6 Week Art Scholars Programme
Suggested ages 11-18
1 hour per week
Focus on Contemporary Female Artists
The goal is to get students excited about current practicing artists, to help them to envisage how a career in the creative industries might be possible for them.
When I was at school Art wasn’t deemed as a ‘vocational’ subject and it wasn't encouraged and celebrated in the way it should be, so highlighting how successful and happy you can be, by pursuing a career in art is the goal.
The course will cover;
A range of different Focus Artists for inspiration
The ways in which you can grow your audience
How to have multiple revenue streams
Techniques and tips when creating works inspired by our Focus Artists
Exploring work featured in acclaimed galleries to increase their contemporary art knowledge base
Help and advice in entering exhibitions and practical tips
The course can be part of their art lesson or during lunch break.
We will spend 4 weeks looking at a different artist each week and practising new techniques and the final two sessions we will work larger scale, to create a piece that can be used as part of their coursework or a school gallery installation.
Course price £120 per lesson; £720 total
A materials list will be provided in advance for schools to source.
